Hooray for Underpants!

To borrow a line from the DVD that's viewed almost daily around here, "Elmo's Potty Time", "Hooray for underpants!" These pics are from our first day in big boy underwear. Coop picked out a pack featuring his favorite Sesame Street characters. He also had a pair with trains and one with footballs that Grandma bought him.
He has done an AMAZING job! We practiced using Pull-Ups for a couple of days, getting used to the process. They have a little picture (a star or rocket) on the front that disappears if it gets wet. He was very conscious of keeping it visible and checked it often. We only lost a few stars, mainly at naptime. Then he was ready for the big time!
Saturday, August 28, was our first official day in real underpants! The trains won out for the first run. We decided to not wear shorts that day in hopes of less to wash. Coop even went out to watch the garbage truck w/Daddy in his underpants!

I love this next picture! I wish I had caught him smiling, though.

(I know, it's a little reminiscent of The Village People, but I try not to think about that!)

All in all, Coop has amazed us with how easily he potty trained. We have had very few accidents, even when away from home (church, grocery stores, etc.)
Now he is great at telling us when he needs to go, or just going on his own. One day while washing dishes, I heard the toilet flush and turned to see him coming out of the bathroom, naked from the waist down, saying, "I tee-tee in potty all by myself!" with such pride. He still needs help getting his pants back on straight, but we are so proud of our big boy.

Love that tiny hiney!
