God Bless Chick-Fil-A! (and Go Texans!)

Happy Labor Day everyone. We enjoyed a relaxing day at home. Chris didn't even have to mow any yards today! Although he did work on the lawn mower. (FYI-Chris has been mowing a couple of yards in our neighborhood to earn extra $$. His dad has done this in his own neighborhood for awhile, but since his heart attack, has not been able to do them. So, Chris has been mowing those yards, too, so his dad won't lose his clients. So, he's gone mowing after work and on weekends anywhere from 2-4 days a week. So this was extra nice to have him home from work for a holiday, and actually home!)

As a special family outing, we went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch. We weren't really planning to do so, but we got an email advertisement saying that you'd get a FREE 3-piece chicken strips if you showed up at a Chick-Fil-A on Labor Day wearing any football team logo--to celebrate the beginning of football season, and their new, improved chicken strips. So, we put on our garb and loaded up the car! Cooper just happens to have his very own Tiny Texan T-shirt, compliments of Sugar Land Methodist Hospital, where he was born, too! We weren't sure they'd really give us the deal for all three of us, but he couldn't be left out either. The girl behind the counter took one look at him, squealed to all the other workers about how cute he was, and gave us three free boxes of chicken strips! I mean, look at him--can you blame her?

We also happened to have a coupon from our Chick-Fil-A calendar for a free large order of waffle fries if you buy a medium drink (thanks Grandma & Pa!). So, we ordered and paid for a medium drink, one additional order of waffle fries, and got the rest of the meal for free! (No, I didn't feed Cooper his box of chicken; Chris took care of those.) Total cost of our whole meal: $3.25. Not bad for the first day of our first month with only one paycheck, huh?

God Bless Chick-Fil-A! I should write them a letter telling them how the LORD used their fun little gimmick to encourage and feed our little family. God is faithful to provide--in fun and creative ways, too!

Oh yeah--and Go Texans!
