I took Chris to the airport this morning to fly to Missouri. He's visiting his good friend, Dr. Derek--make that Major Dr. Derek (he recently received a promotion!) for a sort of birthday trip. Derek and Chris usually go hiking in the summers, but the past 2 summers have been kind of busy with weddings, honeymoons (both ours and theirs), and babies (just ours). So, when Derek invited Chris up, I insisted. Cooper isn't really mobile yet, and thus fairly easily contained. I couldn't imagine it being very easy to do next summer. Plus, Derek ships out to Iraq in November and we're not sure when he'll be back. They have a rafting trip planned for tomorrow and will also do some fishing--who knows what else! I only hope they don't go without showers as they usually do when backpacking through the mountains. Derek's poor wife, Leticia, doesn't deserve that!
I don't have a picture to add today, just wanted to wish my wonderful husband a very happy 33rd birthday! He is more than I ever could have imagined or hoped for in a husband and father (Eph. 3:20). I love you, Babe! Have a great time! Cooper's blowing "love bubbles" to you. :)
