If there was ever a good time to have a medical emergency, it would have been last Friday. Chris's long time friend Derek Staner--Dr. Derek--and his wife, Leticia--Dr. Leticia--came to visit us while in town from Missouri. They are about to celebrate their first anniversary later this month (congrats, docs!). Ironically, Cooper had a slight choking incident about 5 minutes before they arrived. (Nothing serious--just had to utilize the bulb syringe and dry some tears.) We really wish the Drs. Staner lived closer so we could hang out. We both honeymooned in Hawaii, with hopes to return to Kawai someday. Leticia and I are looking forward to lounging on the beach while the guys have their eye on an 11 mile hike that promises amazing sights. Not sure when this will actually happen. Maybe when we're all retired??!!
We wish them well and will be keeping them in our prayers as Derek will ship out to serve in Iraq this fall.
