Mother's Day, etc.

This was my first official Mother's Day. Not that I haven't been wished a Happy Mother's Day before, though. When you're single for as long as I was, it's bound to happen. This was the first year though that I didn't sheepishly return the well meant greeting with "Um, I'm not a mom. I'm not even married!" Sad, I know, but true. Thanks to Cooper, and the good Lord that sent him to me, I was able to gratefully reply, "Thank you!" Chris made it extra special for me, too, with the most beautiful flowers and sweetest card you ever saw. Awwww!

Mother's Day was a busy day! Cooper attended his first worship service at Sugar Creek Baptist Church. (Last time, we only made it to Sunday School.) He did great--fussed a tiny bit, but promptly fell asleep. And, slept through most of his first stay in the church nursery while we went to Sunday School! Afterwards, we went to lunch at the Chaddricks' home, where these first pics were taken. Later that evening, I went to a movie with some of the girls from our ABF class (Adult Bible Fellowship, AKA Sunday School). So, Cooper's first movie was "Baby Mama". He won't remember a thing, though. He fell asleep, then ate, then slept again.

Cooper is now 12 weeks old, and REALLY wants to be able to sit up on his own. He will hold his head steady if you pull him up from a laying position by his fingers, and he's able to sit in the "Bumbo" seat for a short period of time before slumping in exhaustion. :) We're still having a great time with him. He is such a happy guy (most of the time!) and has such a sweet disposition. He's growing fast, too! No official numbers until next month, but I weighed him at 13 lbs and Chris measured him between 24-25 inches.

Happy Mother's Day.
We need to get together soon. I can't believe he is 12 weeks old. Another 12 weeks and Hope will be here.

Happy mothers day!!

He is about to learn lots of new tricks and get so so fun - something magical happens between the 3rd and 4th month, after the "fourth trimester", and they turn from newborns into babies, their personalities start to shine and they become much more entertaining. And then it just gets better and better!

Hey Jenna,

I visited with your mom last weekend. If you ever want to discuss the Baby Wise method, give me a call. We did it and my babies were not exactly like they said they would be but none the less....it worked!!! I'd be very happy to talk about it if you want. We are possibly in the process of adopting a baby so I might need a refresher course myself!
Love,
Lori Todd

Hi Tweet...boy, my little girl's first Mother's Day. I have to say it was good we weren't together since I was a bit emotional all day. I know my Mother was watching over us and loving seeing you with Cooper onthis special day.
Love you, Mom
